My name is John McMillen and I am the Chief Information Officer for Graves County Schools in Mayfield, Kentucky. It is my charge to build and maintain a state-of-the-art technological environment to support a world class education for our students and those who shape and support their education.

I also host of Music From the Front Porch on 91.3 WKMS in Murray, KY. The show airs every Saturday morning from 10 AM until 1 PM but I am only able to do every other weekend... so check in and listen to the stream at the above link.

Another Application Flies

Just a quick check in.

I am sitting in on the initial viewing of our finance system sandbox environment. This is an initial look at our migrated data to the cloud hosted MUNIS Financial System. It has been a weird route to get here as many had to shed their fears of their data residing somewhere outside of our district.

Once live, we will only be working inside the system, not maintaining the system. All we have to focus on is ensuring our network is readily available and in the event it is not, access can now be obtained from another internet connection. Essentially our users will only be focused on the tasks that they need to accomplish.
